Diagnostic Fault Information
Circuit/System Description
The body control module (BCM) receives a signal from the ambient light/sunload sensor indicating a low or high ambient outside light level. Under daylight conditions the BCM supplies a battery voltage to the daytime running lamps (DRL).
Conditions for Running the DTC
B260B 01 or B260C 01
Engine is not running.
B260B 02, B260C 02, B260B 04 or B260C 04
* The engine is running.
* Headlamp switch in AUTO position.
* The ambient light is day.
Conditions for Setting the DTC
B260B 01 or B260C 01
The BCM detects a short to voltage on the control circuit.
B260B 02 or B260C 02
The BCM detects a short to ground on the control circuit.
B260B 04 or B260C 04
The BCM detects an open control circuit.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
The appropriate headlamp is inoperative.
Conditions for Clearing the DTC
The condition responsible for setting the DTC no longer exists.

Circuit/System Verification
Ignition ON, command the appropriate Dedicated Daytime Running Lamp test. The appropriate daytime running lamp should be ON/OFF.
Circuit/System Testing
1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the appropriate daytime running lamp.
2. Test for less than 5 ohm between the appropriate daytime running lamp ground circuit harness connector listed below and ground.
* E4C Daytime Running Lamp - Left ground circuit harness connector terminal G
* E4D Daytime Running Lamp - Right ground circuit harness connector terminal G
• If greater than the specified value, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
3. Connect a test lamp between the appropriate daytime running lamp control circuit harness connector listed below and ground.
* E4C Daytime Running Lamp - Left ground circuit harness connector terminal A
* E4D Daytime Running Lamp - Right ground circuit harness connector terminal A
4. Command the appropriate Dedicated Daytime Running Lamp ON and OFF with a scan tool. The test lamp should turn ON and OFF when changing between the commanded states.
• If the test lamp is always ON, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K9 Body Control Module.
• If the test lamp is always OFF, test the Signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuits test normal, replace the K9 Body Control Module.
5. If all the circuits test normal, replace the appropriate daytime running lamp.
