Lower Control Arm Replacement (GNB)
Removal Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Service and Repair).
3. Remove the front lower control arm nut (1).
4. Remove the front lower control arm bolt (2).
5. Remove the front lower control arm nut (3) at the steering knuckle.
6. Remove the front lower control arm bolt (1) at the steering knuckle.
7. Remove the front lower control arm nut (4) at the frame.
8. Remove the front lower control arm bolt (5) at the frame.
9. Remove the front lower control arm (2) from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Position the front lower control arm (2) in the frame and the steering knuckle.
Note: Install the front lower control arm bolts to hold the lower control arm in place.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).
2. Install the front lower control arm bolt (5) and nut (4) at the frame, then tighten the to bolt (5) 100 Nm (74 lb ft) plus 75 degrees.
3. Install the front lower control arm bolt (1) and the nut (3) at the steering knuckle, then tighten the nut (3) to 100 Nm (75 lb ft) plus 75 degrees.
4. Install the front lower control arm nuts (1) and the bolts (2), then tighten the bolts to 115 Nm (85 lb ft) plus 120 degrees
5. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Service and Repair).
6. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
