Front Suspension




Stabilizer Shaft Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the front tires and wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Service and Repair).
3. Remove the stabilizer shaft links. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement (Front Suspension).
4. Remove the stabilizer shaft insulators. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Insulator Replacement (Front Suspension).
5. Separate the outer tie rod end from the knuckle. Refer to Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod Replacement (Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod Replacement).
6. Remove the three way catalytic convertor. Refer to Three-Way Catalytic Converter Replacement (Three-Way Catalytic Converter Replacement).
7. Turn the left strut completely to the left. Guide the stabilizer shaft out the left side of the vehicle between the body and the strut.




8. Remove the stabilizer shaft (3) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the stabilizer shaft (3) to the vehicle.
2. Install the three way catalytic convertor. Refer to Three-Way Catalytic Converter Replacement (Three-Way Catalytic Converter Replacement).




3. Loosely install the following components:

1. The left and right stabilizer shaft insulators
2. The stabilizer shaft insulator brackets
3. The stabilizer shaft bracket bolts

4. Install the stabilizer shaft links. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement (Front Suspension).
5. Connect the outer tie rod end to the knuckle. Refer to Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod Replacement (Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod Replacement).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

6. Tighten the stabilizer shaft insulator bracket bolts to 50 Nm (37 lb ft).
7. Install the front tires and wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Service and Repair).
8. Lower the vehicle.
