Fuel Pump Fuel Feed Hose Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief (Service and Repair).
2. Disconnect the fuel feed pipe quick connect fitting (1) and the evaporative emission pipe (2). Refer to Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service (Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service) and Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service (Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service).
3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
4. Remove the fuel tank protector. Refer to Fuel Tank Protector Replacement (Fuel Tank Protector Replacement).
5. Remove the fuel feed pressure sensor. Refer to Fuel Pressure Sensor Replacement - Fuel Feed Pipe (Fuel Pressure Sensor Replacement - Fuel Feed Pipe).
6. Disconnect the fuel feed pipe quick connect fitting (1) and the evaporative emission pipe (2). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service (Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service).
7. Plug or cap the fuel feed pipe to prevent fuel loss or contamination.
8. Disconnect the brake pipes from the plastic retainers.
9. Remove the fuel feed and evaporative emission pipes (1) as an assembly from the vehicle.
10. Separate the fuel feed pipe (1) from the evaporative emission pipe.
Installation Procedure
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).
1. Ensure that the fuel feed pipe and fittings are clean and dry prior to assembly.
2. Install the fuel feed pipe (1) to the evaporative emission pipe.
3. Install the fuel feed and evaporative emission pipes (1) as an assembly to the vehicle.
4. Connect the brake pipes to the plastic retainers.
5. Remove the plug or cap from the fuel feed pipe.
6. Connect the fuel feed pipe quick connect fitting (1) and the evaporative emission pipe (2). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service (Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service).
7. Install the fuel feed pressure sensor. Refer to Fuel Pressure Sensor Replacement - Fuel Feed Pipe (Fuel Pressure Sensor Replacement - Fuel Feed Pipe).
8. Install the fuel tank protector. Refer to Fuel Tank Protector Replacement (Fuel Tank Protector Replacement).
9. Connect the fuel feed pipe quick connect fitting (1) and the evaporative emission pipe (2). Refer to Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service (Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service) and Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service (Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service).
10. Inspect for leaks using the following procedure:
1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF for 2 seconds.
2. Turn OFF the ignition, for 10 seconds.
3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
4. Inspect for fuel leaks.
