- Driver Door Unlatch Enable Circuit Short to Battery
DTC B252B 01
- Passenger Door Unlatch Enable Circuit Short to Battery
Diagnostic Fault Information
Circuit/System Description
The keyless entry control module will detect the keyless entry transmitter when an exterior door handle is pulled and the transmitter is within 1 meter (3 feet) of the door handle, the body control module (BCM) will unlock the doors and send the unlatch enable signal to keyless entry control module.
Conditions for Running the DTC
The system voltage is 9-16 V.
Conditions for Setting the DTC
B252A 02
The keyless entry control module detects a short to voltage for greater than 3 seconds on the driver door lock actuator unlock control circuit.
B252B 02
The keyless entry control module detects a short to voltage for longer than 3 seconds on the door lock control circuit.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
B252A 02
The driver door will require two pulls of the exterior door handle to unlock the door and then to unlatch the door.
B252B 02
The passenger, left rear and right rear doors will require two pulls of their exterior door handles to unlock the doors and then to unlatch the doors.
Conditions for Clearing the DTC
* This DTC will be current for as long as the fault is present
* When the fault is no longer present, the DTC will be a history DTC
* A history DTC will clear after 40 ignition cycles

Circuit/System Verification
Note: The keyless entry transmitter must be within 1 meter (3 feet) of the door handle
1. With the driver door locked, verify the function of the A23D Door Latch Assembly-Driver unlocks and unlatches the driver door while pulling the exterior driver door handle.
• If the A23D Door Latch Assembly-Driver requires 2 pulls of the exterior driver door handle to unlock and unlatch the driver door
Refer to Circuit/System Testing - Driver Door Release Command Malfunction.
• If the A23D Door Latch Assembly-Driver unlocks and unlatches
2. With the passenger door locked, verify the function of the A23P Door Latch Assembly-Passenger unlocks and unlatches the passenger door while pulling the exterior passenger door handle.
• If the A23P Door Latch Assembly-Passenger requires 2 pulls of the exterior passenger door handle to unlock and unlatch the passenger door
Refer to Circuit/System Testing - Passenger Door Release Command Malfunction.
• If the A23P Door Latch Assembly-Passenger unlocks and unlatches
3. All OK.
Circuit/System Testing
Driver Door Release Command Malfunction
1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the X4 harness connector at the K84 Keyless Entry Control Module. Ignition ON.
2. Verify that a test lamp does not illuminate between the signal circuit terminal 3 and ground.
• If the test lamp Illuminates
1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the K9 Body Control Module, ignition ON.
2. Test for less than 1 V between the signal circuit and ground.
• If 1 V or greater, repair the short to voltage on the circuit.
• If less than 1 V, replace the K9 Body Control Module.
• If the test lamp does not illuminate
3. Replace the K84 Keyless Entry Control Module.
Passenger Door Release Command Malfunction
1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the X4 harness connector at the K84 Keyless Entry Control Module. Ignition ON.
2. Verify that a test lamp does not illuminate between the signal circuit terminal 14 and ground.
