Condenser HVAC: Service and Repair




Air Conditioning Condenser Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.

2. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.

3. Remove the front bumper fascia.

4. Remove the air conditioning refrigerant pressure sensor. Refer to Air Conditioning (A/C) Refrigerant Pressure Sensor Replacement Service and Repair.

5. Remove the intake air duct. Refer to Intake Air Duct Replacement Intake Air Duct Replacement.





6. Remove the 4 radiator air side upper baffle bolts (2).

7. Remove the radiator air side upper baffle (1).





8. Remove the air conditioning compressor and condenser hose nut and loosen the air conditioning compressor and condenser hose (1).

9. Remove the air conditioning evaporator hose nut and loosen the air conditioning evaporator hose (2).





10. Remove the air conditioning condenser (1).

Installation Procedure





1. Install the air conditioning condenser (1).





2. Install the air conditioning compressor and the condenser hose (1).

Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

3. Install the air conditioning compressor and condenser hose nut and tighten to 19 Nm (14 lb ft).

4. Install the air conditioning evaporator hose (2).

5. Install the air conditioning evaporator hose nut and tighten to 19 Nm (14 lb ft).





6. Install the radiator air side upper baffle (1).

7. Install the 4 radiator air side upper baffle bolts (2) and tighten to 4 Nm (35 lb ft).

8. Install the intake air duct. Refer to Intake Air Duct Replacement Intake Air Duct Replacement.

9. Install the air conditioning refrigerant pressure sensor. Refer to Air Conditioning (A/C) Refrigerant Pressure Sensor Replacement Service and Repair.

10. Install the front bumper fascia.

11. Evacuate and charge the refrigerant system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.

12. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
