Headlamp Leveling Actuator Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the headlamp. Refer to Headlamp Replacement (Halogen) Headlamp Replacement (Halogen).





2. Cut the housing along the marked grove (1), using a carpenters knife.





3. Wind the vertical adjustment screw (1) until the marked dimension (2) reaches 9 mm (0.36 in).





4. Remove the high beam cap and insert a screwdriver into the marked position (1). Unsnap the joint by turning the screwdriver.





5. Rotate the headlamp leveling actuator from the original position (1) counter-clockwise on the left headlamp (or clockwise on the right one) until the headlamp leveling actuator unlocks (2).

6. Disconnect the wiring harness connector and remove the headlamp leveling actuator from the headlamp.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the headlamp leveling actuator to the headlamp and connect the wiring harness connector.





2. Rotate the headlamp leveling actuator from the unlocked position (2) clockwise on the left headlamp (or counter-clockwise on the right one) until the headlamp leveling actuator locks (1).





3. Place the rubber seal (1) on the repair kit headlamp leveling actuator cover (2).





4. Carefully position the cover (1) on the headlamp (2).





5. Drill two holes through the marked holes (1) on the cover

* 6 mm (0.24 in) deep

* 3.7 mm (0.15 in) in diameter





Caution:

6. Screw three 4x14 screws into all marked holes (1).

7. Replace the low beam cap.

8. Install the headlamp. Refer to Headlamp Replacement (Halogen) Headlamp Replacement (Halogen).
