Subject:
Cargo Cover Seal Pulls On
(Clean and Apply Sealer to Weatherstrip)

Models:
2002 Chevrolet Avalanche
2002 Cadillac Escalade EXT

Condition

Some customers may comment that one of the four cargo cover seals has come loose.

Correction

1. Remove the hard cover and remove the seal.

Important:
Do not clean the mastic sealer from inside the carrier.





2. Clean the two lip surfaces of the seal with one of the cleaners listed below. Refer to the arrow in the illustration.

3. Clean the top and bottom of the hard cover surface with one of the cleaners listed below.

^ 3M(R) General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner, P/N 08984

^ Dominion Sure Seal, Sure Solve Stock BSS

^ Kent Acrosol





4. Apply a thick bead of GM Weatherstrip Adhesive to the hard cover. Refer to the arrow in the illustration.

5. Install the seal and clean any excess sealer off the hard cover.
