Whistle Noise Around Roof Area
(Install Weatherstrip)

Models:
2002 Cadillac Escalade

Condition

Some customers may comment on a whistle-like noise coming from the roof area between the "A" or the "B" pillar at vehicle speeds of 97-129 km/h (60-80 mph).

Cause

The noise may be generated by airflow through both front recovery hook openings in the front bumper that collides with the frame rail.

Correction

Until a service part is available, cut a 95 mm (3 3A in) piece of weatherstrip from P/N 15735059 (which is approximately 4.2 m (14 ft) long) and install it on the upper frame rail as shown in the illustration. Repeat this for the other side.
