Lift Gate Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Open the liftgate.
2. Support the liftgate.
3. Remove the roof rear header garnish molding.
4. Disconnect the electrical connectors, as needed.
5. Disconnect the liftgate window washer fluid hose.
6. Remove the liftgate struts.
7. Remove the bolts retaining the liftgate hinge to the body mounted hinge locator.
8. With an assistant, remove the liftgate.

Installation Procedure

1. With an assistant, install the liftgate to the vehicle.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the bolts that retain the liftgate to the body.

Tighten the bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

3. Install the liftgate struts.
4. Connect the washer fluid hose.
5. Connect the electrical connectors, as needed.
6. Install the roof rear header garnish molding.
