Multifunction, Turn Signal & Hazard Switch

Multifunction, Turn Signal, and Hazard Switch Replacement - On Vehicle

Removal Procedure





1. Disable the SIR system.
2. Remove the knee bolster.
3. Loosen the steering column bracket nuts.
4. Remove the steering column trim covers.
5. Disconnect the steering column bulkhead connector from the vehicle harness.





6. Disconnect the gray and the black connectors (2) of the switch from the column bulkhead connector.
7. Disconnect the automatic transmission shift lock control electrical connector.





8. Remove the wire harness straps from the steering column wire harness (1).
9. Disconnect the park position switch electrical connection.
10. Remove the multifunction switch retaining screws from the switch
11. Remove the multifunction turn signal/hazard switch .

Installation Procedure





1. Install the multifunction turn signal/hazard switch to the steering column.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the screws retaining the multifunction switch to the steering column.
- Tighten the screws to 6 Nm (53 inch lbs.).
3. Connect the park position switch electrical connection.
4. Install the wire harness straps to the steering column wire harness (1).





5. Install the gray and black wiring harness connectors (1) to the column bulkhead connector.
6. Connect the automatic transmission shift lock control electrical connector.





7. Install the steering column bulkhead connector to the vehicle wire harness.
- Tighten the center screw to 6 Nm (53 inch lbs.).
8. Install the wire straps on the steering column wire harness.
9. Install the steering column trim covers.
10. Tighten the steering column bracket nuts.
- Tighten the nuts to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
11. Install the knee bolster.
12. Enable the SIR system.
