Cylinder Head Assembly

Cylinder Head - Left





M11
First Pass - In Sequence 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.)
Second Pass - In Sequence 60 degrees
Third Pass - In Sequence 60 degrees
Final Pass - In Sequence 60 degrees, total 180 degrees
M6 12 Nm (106 inch lbs.)

Do Not re-use old M11 Bolts

Cylinder Head - Right





M11
First Pass - In Sequence 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.)
Second Pass - In Sequence 60 degrees
Third Pass - In Sequence 60 degrees
Final Pass - In Sequence 60 degrees, total 180 degrees
M6 12 Nm (106 inch lbs.)

Do Not re-use old M11 Bolts

Surface Flatness - Block Deck 0.050 mm (0.0020 inch)
Surface Flatness - Exhaust Manifold Deck 0.220 mm (0.0087 inch)
Surface Flatness - Intake Manifold Deck 0.220 mm (0.0087 inch)

If warpage is less than 0.05 mm (0.002 inch), the cylinder head surface does not require resurfacing.

If warpage is between 0.05-0.20 mm (0.002-0.008 inch), the cylinder head must be resurfaced.


Intake Manifold





Mounting Bolt 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.)

Camshaft Bearing Cap - Left





First Pass
Tighten the camshaft bearing cap bolts 5 Nm (44 inch lbs.).

Final Pass
Tighten the camshaft bearing cap bolts an additional 30 degrees using the J45059.

Camshaft Bearing Cap - Right





Tighten the camshaft bearing cap bolts 5 Nm (44 inch lbs.).

Final Pass
Tighten the camshaft bearing cap bolts an additional 30 degrees using the J45059.

Crankshaft Balancer Bolt
First Pass 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.)
Final Pass 150 degrees

Exhaust Manifold - Left





Tighten the exhaust manifold bolts and nuts 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.)

Exhaust Manifold - Right





Tighten the exhaust manifold bolts and nuts 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.)
