Ignition Switch Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in Air Bags and Seat Belts.

Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3 in Air Bags and Seat Belts.
2. Remove the upper and lower trim covers.





3. Remove the theft deterrent control module (2) from the ignition lock cylinder case (1).





4. Disconnect the connector located by the ignition switch.
5. Remove the 2 tapping screws (2) from the ignition switch assembly (1).
6. Remove the ignition switch (1) from the ignition lock cylinder case.

Installation Procedure





1. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Install the ignition switch (1) and secure by using the 2 tapping screws (2).
Tighten the screws to 7 Nm (62 inch lbs.).
2. Connect the connector to the ignition switch.





3. Install the theft deterrent control module (2) onto the ignition lock cylinder case (1).
4. Install the upper and lower trim covers.
5. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3 in Air Bags and Seat Belts.
