Diagnostic Instructions

Circuit/System Testing

With Third Row Video Screen

Important: If rear video display does not turn ON, use diagnostic Video Entertainment System Inoperative.

1. Operate the rear seat entertainment system using a known good DVD. Verify that the DVD video appears on the navigation display.

If the DVD video does not display on either the navigation display or the rear video screen replace the radio.

2. Verify the rear seat audio (RSA) module turns ON.

If the RSA does not turn ON go to Video Entertainment System Inoperative. Video Entertainment System Inoperative

3. Disconnect the harness connector from the video display. Ignition ON, operate the rear seat entertainment system using a known good DVD. Verify that a test lamp illuminates between the backlight power circuit module and ground.

If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the backlight power circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.

4. Test for less than 1.0 ohm of resistance between the display ground circuit and ground

If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.

5. Ignition OFF, test for an open, short to ground and short to power on the DVD video signal circuits to the video display.

If all circuits test normal replace the video display.
