Sunroof Cable Drive Tube Replacement (Front Window)

Removal Procedure

1. Open the front sunshade to the full open position.




2. Remove the center window (2).
3. Remove the front sunroof window.




4. Remove the front sunroof motor/actuator (4).
5. Remove the front sunshade assembly.




6. Remove either the front left or front right sunroof front window track (3).
7. Cut the tie straps securing the electrical harness to the drive tubes. Discard the tie straps.




8. Release the drive tube (1) from the motor/actuator block. Use a flat-bladed tool to release the drive tubes.
9. Hold onto the motor block and gently pry the drive tube from the motor block.
10. Carefully remove the drive tube from the motor/actuator compartment.

Installation Procedure




1. Position the drive tube (2) to the motor block (3).




2. Use a standard pair of pliers (2) to carefully secure the drive tube (1) to the motor block.




3. Loosely install 2 motor/actuator screws into the block in order to hold the block into position until the front track (3) rear extension (2) is installed
4. Install either the front left or front right sunroof front window track (3).




5. Install the front sunshade assembly (3).
6. Remove the 2 motor/actuator screws from the motor block.




7. Install the front window motor/actuator (4).
8. Use new tie straps to secure the electrical harness to the drive tubes.
9. Install the front sunroof window.




10. Install the center window (2).
11. Close the front sunshade.
12. Perform the front window/sunshade initialization process. Refer to Sunroof Front Window/Sunshade Initialization Process.
