Sunroof Motor/Actuator Block Assembly Replacement (Front Sunshade)

Removal Procedure

1. Open the front sunshade to the full open position.




2. Remove the center window (2).
3. Remove the front sunroof window.




4. Remove the front sunroof sunshade motor/actuator (2).
5. Remove the front sunshade assembly.




6. Remove either the front left or front right sunroof front window track (3).
7. Cut the tie straps securing the electrical harness to the return tubes. Discard the tie straps.




8. Release the return tube (2) from the front sunshade motor/actuator block. Use a flat-bladed tool to release the return tubes.
9. Hold onto the motor block. Gently pry the drive (1) and return tube (2) from the motor actuator block.
10. Carefully remove the drive and return tubes from the motor/actuator compartment.
11. Remove the front sunshade motor/actuator block assembly from the motor compartment.

Installation Procedure




1. Position the drive and return tubes (2) to the motor block (3)




2. Use a standard pair of pliers (2) to carefully secure the return tube (1) to the motor block (3).
3. Position the front sunroof/sunshade motor/actuator block assembly to the motor compartment.




4. Loosely install 2 motor/actuator screws into the block in order to hold the block into position until the front track (3) rear drive tube block (2) is installed.
5. Install either the front left or front right sunroof front window track (3).




6. Install the front sunshade assembly (3).
7. Remove the motor/actuator screws from the motor block.




8. Install the front sunshade motor/actuator (2).




9. Use new tie straps to secure the electrical harness to the drive (4) and return (3) return tubes.
10. Install the front sunroof window.




11. Install the center window (2).
12. Close the front sunshade.
13. Perform the front window/sunshade initialization process. Refer to Sunroof Front Window/Sunshade Initialization Process.
