Power Steering Gear Inlet Pipe/Hose Replacement (Right Hand Drive LH2)
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the front air deflector.
2. Place drain pans under the vehicle as needed.
3. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct.
4. Loosen the air cleaner assembly front half retaining screws.
5. Remove the air cleaner assembly front half.
6. Disconnect the power steering gear inlet hose fitting from the power steering pump.
7. Remove the front tire/wheel assemblies.
8. Remove the left front bumper fascia extension.
9. Remove the power steering gear inlet hose to the frame mounting bolts.
10. Lower the rear of the front frame to make room for removing the power steering inlet hose.
11. Remove the power steering gear inlet hose to power steering gear retaining bolt.
12. Remove the power steering gear inlet hose from the power steering gear.
13. Remove the power steering gear inlet hose from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the power steering gear inlet hose to the vehicle.
2. Install the power steering gear inlet hose to the power steering gear.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.
3. Install the power steering gear inlet hose to power steering gear retaining bolt.
Tighten the bolt to 23 N.m (17 lb in).
4. Install the front frame of the vehicle fully before continuing.
5. Install the power steering gear inlet hose to frame mounting bolts.
Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (88 lb in).
6. Connect the power steering gear inlet hose fitting to the power steering pump.
Tighten the fitting to 38 N.m (28 lb in).
7. Install the power steering inlet hose quick connect to fitting.
8. Clean any excess fluid from the vehicle and remove all drain pans.
9. Install the front air deflector.
10. Install the left front bumper fascia extension.
11. Install the front tire/wheel assemblies.
12. Install the air cleaner assembly front half.
Tighten the screws to 8 N.m (71 lb in).
13. Install the air cleaner outlet duct.
14. Bleed the power steering system.
