Power Steering Gear Outlet Pipe/Hose Replacement (Right Hand Drive)

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the front tire/wheel assemblies.
2. Remove the left front bumper fascia extension.
3. Remove the front air deflector.
4. Place drain pans under the vehicle as needed.




5. Remove the power steering gear outlet hose to frame retaining bolts.




6. Disconnect the power steering gear outlet hose from the power steering cooler.
7. Lower the front frame as needed to remove the power steering gear outlet hose. Refer to Front Frame Replacement.




8. Remove the power steering lines to power steering gear retaining bolt.




9. Disconnect the power steering gear outlet hose from the power steering gear.
10. Remove the power steering gear outlet hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the power steering gear outlet hose to the vehicle.




2. Connect the power steering gear outlet hose to the power steering gear.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

3. Install the power steering hoses to power steering gear retaining bolt.

Tighten the bolt to 23 N.m (17 lb ft).

4. Install the front frame fully before continuing.




5. Connect the power steering gear outlet hose to the power steering cooler.




6. Install the power steering gear outlet hose to frame retaining bolts.

Tighten the bolt to 10 N.m (88 lb in).

7. Clean any excess fluid from the vehicle and remove the drain pans.
8. Install the front air deflector.
9. Install the left front bumper fascia extension.
10. Install the front tire/wheel assemblies.
11. Bleed the power steering system.
