Power Steering Pump Replacement



Power Steering Pump Replacement (LH2)

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the front air deflector.
2. Place drain pans under the vehicle as needed.
3. Remove as much fluid from the reservoir as possible.
4. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
5. Remove the power steering pulley.




6. Disconnect the power steering reservoir outlet hose from the power steering pump.
7. Disconnect the power steering pressure hose from the power steering pump.




8. Remove the power steering pump to engine mounting bolt.




9. Remove the power steering bracket to the engine bolts.
10. Remove the power steering pump with bracket from the vehicle.
11. Remove the power steering pump to power steering bracket.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the power steering pump to power steering bracket.
2. Install the power steering pump with bracket to the vehicle.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

3. Install the power steering bracket to the engine bolts.

Tighten the bolt to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).




4. Install the power steering pump to the engine mounting bolt.

Tighten the bolt to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

5. Connect the power steering pressure hose to the power steering pump.




6. Connect the power steering reservoir outlet hose to the power steering pump.
7. Clean off any excess fluid from the vehicle.
8. Remove the drain pans from under the vehicle.
9. Install the front air deflector.
10. Install the power steering pulley.
11. Install the air cleaner assembly.
12. Bleed the power steering system.
