Condition
Some customers may experience all of the concerns listed below:
- The CD/DVD is inoperative.
- The DISC tab that is normally next to the XM, FM and AM tab on the top of the screen will be blank/grayed out, indicating the CD/DVD functions are not accessible.
- Pressing the CD/DVD load buttons will not produce any response. If there are discs already in the system, they will not play.
- No error messages or system status message will be observed on the display screen when the above concerns are noticed.
Note
This issue is specific to the CD/DVD mechanism, NOT the Map DVD mechanism.
Cause
This condition may be caused by a software anomaly that may cause the CD/DVD mechanism to stop working.
Correction
If you experience this condition, do not replace the radio assembly. To repair this condition, use the following procedure:
1. Remove the RDO 15 amp fuse from the Underhood Fuse Box for 10 minutes and reinstall.
2. Update the radio with the latest software available on TIS2WEB.
Important
If the condition returns after the latest calibration has been programmed into the radio, the radio will have to be replaced.
