Rear Side Door Latch Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair) .
2. Remove the inside door handle. Refer to Rear Side Door Inside Handle Replacement (Service and Repair) .
3. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement (Service and Repair) .




4. Disconnect the outside door handle rod (1) from the door latch by opening the clip (2) on the door latch.




5. Disengage the inside handle rod (2) from the rod guide (3).
6. Push the inside lock rod grommet through the opening.
7. Remove the door latch screws (1).
8. Remove the door latch with the inside door handle rod and lock rod attached.
9. Disconnect the electrical connector.
10. Remove the handle rod and lock rod from the door latch.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the inside door handle rod and lock rod to the door latch.
2. Connect the electrical connector.
3. Install the door latch into the door.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .

4. Install the door latch screws (1).

Tighten the screws to 10 N.m (89 lb in).





5. Connect the outside door handle rod to the door latch.

1. Insert the rod (1) into the clip (2) on the door latch assembly.
2. Close the clip.

6. Inspect for proper operation of the outside door handle.
7. Install the inside handle rod to the rod guide.
8. Install the water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement (Service and Repair) .
9. Install the inside door handle. Refer to Rear Side Door Inside Handle Replacement (Service and Repair) .
10. Install the door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair) .
