Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement (Steering Wheel Replacement) .
2. Remove the ignition lock cylinder. Refer to Ignition Lock Cylinder Replacement (Ignition Lock Cylinder Replacement) .
3. Disconnect any electrical connectors as needed.




4. Remove the steering column lower trim cover bolts (2).
5. Remove the steering column lower trim cover (1).




6. Remove the steering column upper trim cover bolt (2).
7. Remove the steering column upper trim cover (2).
8. Transfer any parts as needed.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the steering column upper trim cover (1) to the steering column.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .

2. Install the steering column upper trim cover bolt (2).

Tighten the bolt to 1 N.m (9 lb in).





3. Install the steering column lower trim cover (1).
4. Remove the steering column lower trim cover bolts (2).

* Tighten the bolt nearest tilt lever to 3.5 N.m (31 lb in).
* Tighten the bolt in center of cover to 1.6 N.m (14 lb in).


5. Connect any electrical connectors as needed.
6. Install the ignition lock cylinder. Refer to Ignition Lock Cylinder Replacement (Ignition Lock Cylinder Replacement) .
7. Install the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement (Steering Wheel Replacement) .
