Suction Hose Replacement (LH2 w/o C57)
Tools Required
* J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector
* J 45689 A/C Quick Joint Tool
Removal Procedure
1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging) .
2. Remove the suction hose quick connect fitting. Refer to Air Conditioning Line/Tube Connector Removal/Replacement (Air Conditioning Line/Tube Connector Removal/Replacement) .
3. Remove the suction hose retaining screw from the clamp.
4. Separate the suction line from the clamp.
5. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement (Service and Repair) .
6. Remove the suction hose retaining bolt from the compressor.
7. Remove the suction hose from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Coat the new O-rings with refrigerant oil. Refer to O-Ring Replacement (Service and Repair) .
2. Install the suction hose.
3. Connect the suction hose to the suction pipe.
4. Install the suction hose quick connect fitting. Refer to Air Conditioning Line/Tube Connector Removal/Replacement (Air Conditioning Line/Tube Connector Removal/Replacement) .
5. Position the suction hose into the bracket.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .
6. Install the suction hose retaining screw into the bracket.
Tighten the screw to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
7. Connect the suction hose to the compressor.
8. Install the retaining bolt to the compressor.
Tighten the bolt to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
9. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement (Service and Repair) .
10. Evacuate and recharge the refrigerant system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging) .
11. Leak test the fittings of the component using J 39400-A .
