Lower Intake Manifold Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill LF1) (Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill))Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716) (Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716))Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill LAU) (Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill)).
2. Remove the upper intake manifold. Refer to Upper Intake Manifold Replacement (Upper Intake Manifold Replacement).
3. Remove the fuel injector rail. Refer to Fuel Injector Replacement (Service and Repair).




4. Remove the 2 lower intake manifold bolts (1).
5. Remove the lower intake manifold (2).
6. Remove the lower Intake manifold gasket (3).
7. Clean and inspect lower intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Cleaning and Inspection (LF1 or LFW) (88. Intake Manifold Cleaning and Inspection)Intake Manifold Cleaning and Inspection (LAU or LBW).

Installation Procedure




1. Install the NEW lower intake manifold gasket (3).
2. Install the lower intake manifold (2).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

3. Install the 2 lower intake manifold bolts (1) and tighten to 23 Nm (17 lb ft).
4. Install the fuel injector rail. Refer to Fuel Injector Replacement (Service and Repair).
5. Install the upper intake manifold. Refer to Upper Intake Manifold Replacement (Upper Intake Manifold Replacement).
6. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill LF1) (Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill))Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716) (Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716))Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill LAU) (Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill)).
