Cruise Control: Adjustments

RELEASE SWITCHES
Automatic Transmission
Both the electrical and vacuum release switches are located at the brake pedal. To adjust, depress brake pedal and insert switch fully into tubular clip. Pull pedal rearward until clicking sounds are no longer audible. The switch is now automatically adjusted.Manual Transmission
On manual transmission equipped vehicles, the electrical release switch is located at the clutch pedal, while the vacuum release switch is found at the brake pedal. Adjustment procedures for these switches are the same as for those under automatic transmission equipped vehicles.
SERVO, ADJUST
With engine off and carburetor in slow idle position, connect cable swivel to third ball on servo chain. Adjust cable nuts until chain has a slight amount of slack, then tighten lock nut securely.

CRUISE SPEED, ADJUST
1982---83
The cruise speed adjustment can be set as follows:
1. If cruise speed is lower than engagement speed, loosen orifice tube locknut and turn orifice tube counterclockwise.
2. If cruise speed is higher than engagement speed, loosen orifice tube locknut and turn orifice tube clockwise. Each 1/4 turn of orifice tube will change cruise speed approximately one mile per hour. Tighten locknut after adjustment is completed.
