A/C Compressor - Loading in Defrost Mode
Bulletin No. T 83-100AFile In Group 1
Number 15
Date July '84
SUBJECT: A/C COMPRESSOR LOADING IN DEFROST MODE
MODELS AFFECTED: 1982 AND 1983 CIMARRONS
A/C Electrical Circuit:
The information supersedes Serviceman Bulletin T-83-100, Group 1, Number 15, which should be destroyed.
Low engine speed and rough idle can be caused by high A/C compressor loads due to high head pressures without cooling fan operation while in the defrost mode. This condition can be corrected by installing an additional engine coolant fan relay (P/N 14078902) to operate the coolant fan in the defrost mode. The relay should be installed on the cowl, adjacent to the pressure cycling switch. It should be connected as shown below using connector P/N 12010015.
