Functional Test/Check
Functional Test:
A logical service procedure is available to isolate an ECC problem. All system diagnosis should begin by conducting the functional test in the exact order in which it is presented. If the answer to any functional test question is no (unless otherwise indicated in parenthesis), then turn to the specific trouble tree for analysis of the malfunction. It is essential that the functional test be performed without omitting steps because omissions may result in the inability to isolate specific malfunctions.
It is not necessary to perform the functional test at the beginning of each trouble tree if the functional test has been utilized to select the proper trouble tree. When a malfunction has been isolated and repaired, the technician should exit from the trouble tree at the point of repair.
