DOOR TRIM PANEL SUPPORT REPAIR


The plastic retainer on 1977-1983 Deville, Brougham and Limousine, 1979-1983 Eldorado or 1980-1983 Seville door trim panels may break. This could allow the top of the door trim panel to disengage from the door assembly resulting in a gap between the window glass and inner seal.

A new belt trim support retainer plate (Part No. 20433097) has been released to repair damaged or broken door panel retainers.

If a retainer is broken, use the above listed retainer plate to repair the door trim panel belt support. The retainer plate should be secured to the door belt trim by first drilling two (2) holes through the plate and belt trim support. Then secure the plate to the inside surface of the support with two (2) rivets as shown in Figure 1, View A.
For warranty purposes, use the appropriate Trim Assembly, Door - R & R Operation and add 0.1 hour to install either one or both retainer plates.
