DFI INTERMITTENT FUEL PUMP OPERATION

Fuel Pump Harness Repair:




DFI vehicles equipped with in-tank electric fuel pumps may experience hard starting or poor performance conditions due to intermittent pump operation. An improper wire crimp at the fuel pump terminal may damage the wire causing an intermittent connection. Repair of the terminal by splicing and reconnecting should not be attempted since the rubber terminal insulator cannot be replaced, and this may allow the terminal to contact the vehicle body, resulting in a blown fuel pump fuse and a no-start condition. The condition should be corrected by replacing the short three wire fuel pump harness. The following chart details the GMWDD fuel pump wiring harness part numbers:
