INBOARD SEAL LIP:

This bulletin contains a service procedure to resecure a loose or separated rear door stationary vent glass module to the frame. Vent glass breakage still requires replacement of the vent assembly. The stationary rear door vent glass on Sevilles may be reinstalled to the frame using the following procedure:

1. Remove stationary rear door vent frame from vehicle by following the procedure in the appropriate Fisher Body Service Manual, Section 5.

2. Trim material from inboard seal lip on the glass module (Figure 1, Section A-A).

FIGURE 2 - CLEAN FRAME CAVITY:

3. Clean cavity of frame (Figure 2) using an acid brush and a slow evaporating thinner (PNT 90, DTL 105 or equivalent). All traces of old primer must be removed.

SECTION A-A - CLEAN MODULE SURFACE:

4. Clean module surfaces (Section A-A).
5. Apply 3M #08061 clear emblem adhesive or equivalent into cavity and brush an even coat on all cavity surfaces.

6. Install glass to frame and clamp into position using C-clamps or locking pliers. Be sure to protect module and frame surfaces from jaw or pad damage.

7. Using a heat gun, apply heat to the repaired areas for a period of three to five minutes to promote curing.

8. Leave vent assembly clamped for three hours.

9. Unclamp vent assembly and reinstall into door.
