Number 93
Date Jan. '84
SUBJECT: DELAYED TRANSMISSION ENGAGEMENT - THM 325-4L
MODELS AFFECTED: 1982-1983 ELDORADO, SEVILLE
FIGURE 1 - CASE COVER PLATE:
Some 1982 and 1983 Cadillacs equipped with a THM 325-4L transmission may experience a delayed engagement when shifting from Park to Drive or Reverse after being parked for several hours. This condition may be caused by a loss of pump prime. A filter containing a one-way check valve (service package P/N 8635927) was released in April of 1982 to correct this condition on 1982 models (refer to Serviceman Bulletin #82-59). If this condition exists on 1983 models, or on 1982 models after installing the service package, replacement of the pressure regulator bushing and plugging the line bleed orifice hole in the case cover (refer to Figure 1) may be required.
Refer to the listed parts and service information for performing this repair.
