A/T - 3254L Popping or Grinding on Accel/Chain Wear

SUBJECT: 325 4L

PROBLEM:
Chain looseness caused by stretching or wear popping or grinding on heavy acceleration is usually caused by a badly stretched chain.

SOLUTION:
To determine if a chain is re-useable, it should be measured as shown in Figure 1.




Press the chain together in the middle. Measure from inside to inside on the center links. If the distance is less than 4-3/8", replacement is recommended. A new chain should measure 4-3/4" at this point
