Compressor Replacement
COMPRESSOR - DIESEL ENGINES (ALL)REMOVAL
1. Purge refrigerant from system.
2. Remove 1 through bolt and bushing.
3. Loosen bottom of bracket and swing bracket out of way.
4. Remove air inlet hose to air cleaner.
5. Remove 1 nut (back side of compressor) holding through bolt and bushing and pull bolt out.
6. Remove compressor belt.
7. Disconnect electrical connections.
8. Remove high and low pressure lines at compressor and cap openings.
INSTALLATION
Compressor Mounting:
^ Reverse removal procedure noting the following:
1. Torque pressure lines at compressor to 40-54 Nm (29-40 ft. lbs.).
2. Torque bolts and nut to 26-40 Nm (20-30 ft. lbs.).
3. Install compressor belt and tension to 600-800 Nm (135-180 lbs.) for a new belt and 400 Nm (90 lbs. minimum for a used belt ).
4. Evacuate and charge system.
5. Leak test all connections.
NOTICE: All leaks must be repaired. Under no circumstances should compressor be operated when a leak exists. Loss of refrigerant prevents oil return to compressor and operating compressor may damage it.
