Antenna: Service and Repair


REMOVAL

Antenna Installation (Except E/K):






1. Turn front wheel all the way to the right.
2. Disconnect negative battery cable.
3. Disconnect antenna pack-con and lead-in connectors.
4. Remove antenna harness retaining strap.
5. Remove escutcheon and two upper fender to antenna bolts.
6. Remove lower half of wheel housing.
7. Remove one bolt retaining antenna assembly to inner fender.
8. Remove two bolts holding lower fender support and remove support.
9. Remove one bolt holding antenna brackets together.
10. Attach a guide wire to top of the existing antenna. Wire must be long enough (approximately four feet) to allow removal of existing antenna without wire being pulled through antenna opening in fender. Remove antenna.
11. Detach the wire from existing antenna and attach it to new antenna.
12. Using guide wire, pull new antenna up into position while one inner and two upper antenna bolts are installed.

INSTALLATION
Reverse removal procedure, noting the following:
1. Secure wiring to E.C.C. module with a new retaining strap.
2. Firmly push lead-in wires together at quick connect.
