Output Cycling Test
This series of tests can be performed after .9.5 is displayed on ECC panel. Code .9.5 can be reached in the following ways:
a. Depress ``instant/average'' button when Code .7.0 is displayed on ECC control head. If display does not advance to Code .9.5, refer to Code .7.8 of switch tests.
b. Depress ``instant/average'' button while parameter .1.3 of engine data series is displayed.
The output cycling test, Code .9.6, turns ECM's output on and off. To begin output cycling tests, proceed as follows:
1. Start engine, then shut engine off. Within two seconds, turn ignition on.
2. Enter diagnostics and display Code .9.5.
3. Depress accelerator pedal and release it. Code .9.6 will appear on display panel. If .9.6 does not appear, refer to Code .7.2 of switch tests.
4. Turn cruise instrument panel switch to ON position so that cruise control outputs will cycle.
5. The output cycling test will end after two minutes of cycling and display will switch from Code .9.6 to Code .9.5. The outputs will cycle on and off every three seconds until two minute automatic shutoff occurs, with the exception of cruise control power valve, which cycles continuously. Recycle throttle switch if additional output cycling is desired.
