A/T - Valve Body Throttle Valve Buzz

Bulletin No. T 86-39
File in Group 7
Number 133
Corp. Ref. No.
Date Mar. '86
SUBJECT: THROTTLE VALVE BUZZ - THM 125C, MODEL CJC

MODELS AFFECTED: 1984-1986 CIMARRONS

A throttle buzz condition may be exhibited by 1984 through 1986 Cimarrons equipped with THM 125C transaxles, Model CJC. The condition is most noticeable at idle in drive and less noticeable as the vehicle begins to move. The affected transaxles were built prior to October 29, 1985 (Julian date 302) in Windsor, or prior to December 9, 1985 (Julian date 343) in Ypsilanti.

Beginning on these dates, a new design valve body to case cover spacer plate entered production designed to eliminate the buzz by reducing the diameter of the 1-2 accumulator valve bleed orifice. Reducing the diameter of the bleed orifice prevents rapid oscillation of the valve, which when transmitted to the throttle pressure valve causes it to buzz.

To correct a throttle valve buzz condition for models built before these dates, replace the original valve body to case cover spacer plate with the new spacer plate (P/N 8660569).
