Status Lights
Status Lights:
When in the diagnostic mode, mode indicators on the CCP indicate the status of certain system operating modes. Different modes of operation are indicated by light being turned On or Off. Operation of the status lights is as follows:
1. The Auto status light is illuminated when ECM is operating in closed loop mode. The light will come on after coolant and oxygen sensors have reached normal operating temperatures.
2. The Econ status light is illuminated when oxygen sensor signal to ECM indicates a rich exhaust condition. The light will flash on and off during warm, steady throttle operation.
3. The Off status light is illuminated when ECM senses that throttle switch is closed. The light will be off whenever throttle is applied.
4. The Front Defog status light is illuminated when ECM commands transaxle VCC to engage. The light only indicates whether or not VCC is enabled by the ECM and does not indicate actual operation of the VCC system.
5. The Rear Defog status light is illuminated when ECM senses that 4th gear pressure switch is open. This light should only be on while in 4th gear operation.
6. The Outside Temp status light is illuminated when BCM commands ECC compressor clutch to engage. The light only indicates whether or not clutch is enabled by BCM and does not indicate actual operation of the compressor clutch system.
7. The Auto Fan status light is illuminated when feedback signal from cooling fan control module to BCM indicates that fans are operating. The light should be off whenever fans are off.
8. The Hi Fan status light is illuminated when BCM is commanding up-down mode door to divert air flow up away from heater outlet. The light will be off whenever ECC system is in ``heater'' or ``normal purge'' modes.
9. The Lo Fan status light is illuminated when BCM is commanding A/C-DEF mode door to divert air flow to A/C outlets as in ``A/C'' or ``normal purge'' modes. The light will be off whenever ECC system is in ``heater,'' ``intermediate,'' ``defrost'' and ``cold'' modes.
10. The °F status light is illuminated when BCM senses refrigerant low pressure switch is open. The light will come on when ambient temperature falls below approximately (-) 5° F because of pressure-temperature relationship of refrigerant. The light will remain off under all other conditions if refrigerant system is fully charged and properly controlled.
11. The °C status light is illuminated when BCM is commanding heater water valve to block coolant flow through heater core. The light will remain off except when air mix door is commanded to ``Max A/C'' position.
