Air Injection Pump Replacement

Air Pump Replacement:

Air Pump and Hose:

REMOVAL

1. Hold pump pulley from turning by compressing drive belt, then loosen pump pulley bolts (4).
2. Lift drive tensioner by inserting 1/2" drive socket handle in the tensioner hole and lifting to the up position.
3. Remove the serpentine belt and pump pulley.
4. Remove the air injection pump inlet hose.
5. Remove the air injection pump outlet piping.
6. Remove the air pump mounting bolts (3), and pump assembly.

INSTALLATION

1. Install the air pump assembly and tighten mounting bolts (3).
2. Install the air injection pump outlet piping.
3. Install the air injection pump inlet hose.
4. Install the pump pulley and spacer.
5. Install the pump pulley bolts (4) and tighten equally to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).
6. Install the serpentine belt and reposition drive belt tensioner in the engaged (down) position.
7. Check air injection system for proper operation. Refer to Computers and Controls / System Diagnosis / Diagnostic Charts / Chart C-6, Air Management Check.
