SUBJECT: OPERA LAMPS INOPERATIVE

MODELS AFFECTED: 1986-87 DE VILLES AND FLEETWOODS WITH FORMAL CABRIOLET OR CAMBRIA ROOF OPTIONS


Some 1986 and early production 1987 De Villes and Fleetwoods equipped with a cambria (Option C27) roof and 1986 models equipped with a formal cabriolet (Option C10) roof may experience inoperative opera lamps due to incorrect rear cross car harness installation. If the opera lamps are not connected to the harness, first attempt to locate a misrouted opera lamp harness pigtail in the sail panel or under the seat. If a misrouted pigtail is found, reposition it into the sail panel. Reference pages 10C-19 and 10C-20 of the 1986 Body Service Manual for the correct routing of the opera lamp pigtail. If the rear cross car harness does not have a pigtail for the opera lamp, replace the harness using the appropriate part listed below.
