Wiper Motor and Switch Diagnosis

Before beginning diagnosis, check for the following:

1. Continuity of circuit harness wiring, i.e. good connections to motor, pump, and control switch.
2. Tight wiper motor to dash mounting hardware.
3. Good circuit fuses.
4. Clear washer hoses, not kinked, disconnected or broken.

Check motor operation as follows before removing wiper assembly from car.

1. Disconnect wiring harness from wiper assembly.

2. Apply + 12 volts to wiper connector pins as shown in image.

3. If motor operates in LO, HI, PARK and PULSE, do wiper switch checks shown in images.
4. If the motor does not run in one or all modes, refer to diagnosis by symptom.
