DESCRIPTION
Code B127 will also set if the Park/Neutral switch signal is faulty to the Electronic Control Module (ECM). The ECM monitors the status of the switch position, which closes when the gear selector is in the Park or Neutral position.
TEST DESCRIPTION
The numbers below refer to circled numbers on the diagnostic chart:
1. ECM input E174 displays the voltage state of CKT 434 at the ECM.
2. Disconnecting the switch connector and jumpering terminal "A" to ground will determine if the switch is at fault or the ECM or an open in the related circuitry.
3. Disconnecting the switch will determine if the fault is due to switch, the ECM or a short to ground in CKT 434.
NOTE ON INTERMITTENTS
If an intermittent B127 is being set both circuits 356 and 434 should be checked while manipulating the gear selector switch wiring. To check CKT 356, observe the data value BD41 for a zero reading and to check CKT 434, observe input value E174 for a change-of-state indicator to change from "0" to "X".
