Output Displays

Output displays are operated as defined under C. "Selecting the Test" under the heading "How to Operate Service Mode". When troubleshooting a malfunction, the ECM and BCM output cycling can be used to determine if the output tests can be actuated regardless of the inputs and normal program instructions. Once a test in outputs has been selected, the test will display RI and LO for three seconds in each state to indicate the command and output terminal voltage. A brief summary of each output is provided below:

ECM:

EO00 This test displays "cycle none" as no outputs are activated at this point.

EO01 The CANISTER PURGE SOLENOID display will be "LO" when the solenoid is on (energized).

EO02 The VISCOUS CONVERTER CLUTCH (VCC) display will be "LO" when the solenoid is energized.

EO03 The EFE RELAY display will be "LO" when the relay is energized.

EO04 The EGR SOLENOID display will be "LO" when the solenoid is energized.

EO05 The AIR SWITCH SOLENOID display will be "LO" when the solenoid is energized.

EO06 The AIR DIVERT SOLENOID display will be "LO" when the solenoid is energized.

EO07 The ISC MOTOR display will be "LO" when the plunger is retracting and "HI" during its extension.

EO08 This test displays "CYCLE ALL" as all outputs are cycled at this point.
