SUBJECT: FRONT DOOR GLASS ASSEMBLY RATTLE OR CHATTER CONDITION

MODELS AFFECTED: 1986 ELDORADOS

DOOR GLASS ASSEMBLY:

Some 1986 Eldorados built prior to VIN 1G6EL5785GU602775 may exhibit a chatter or rattle condition in the door glass area. This condition can be corrected by using the following procedure.

1. Remove door glass assembly as described in Section 5 of the 1986 Body Service Manual.

2. Lay glass assembly on a flat protected surface. Using a sharp knife, scribe a line 4 mm (11/64") from the outer edge of the rear guide as shown in illustration.

3. Using a coarse file, remove 4 mm (11/64") of material from the rear guide as shown in shaded area of the illustration (make sure finished edge is smooth by finishing with a fine file).

4. Replace door glass assembly.

For warranty purposes, use the following labor operations

T6154 Right Side .9 hour
T6155 Left Side .9 hour
