Low Fuel Lamp/Indicator: Testing and Inspection
The switch type consists of an indicator light and a low fuel warning switch located on the instrument panel.
The warning switch contacts are closed by the difference in voltage potential between the fuel gauge terminals. This voltage differential will activate the warning switch when the fuel tank is less than 1-4 full and, in turn, cause the indicator to light.
TROUBLESHOOTING
This system incorporates an indicator light. With ignition switch turned to on, the indicator should light. If not, check bulb and all electrical connections. Replace warning switch if bulb and connections prove satisfactory.
