SUBJECT: LOWER RADIATOR HOSE CLAMP AND SHIELD

MODELS AFFECTED: 1986-1987 FLEETWOOD BROUGHAM EQUIPPED WITH 5.0L ENGINE (VIN CODE Y)

Some 1986-1987 Fleetwood Broughams equipped with a 5.0L-V8 engine may experience the lower radiator hose being damaged by the air conditioning compressor belt, or the belt being damaged from contacting the hex end of the lower radiator hose clamp screw.

A clamp and shield assembly (see Figure 1) is available from GMSPO (GM Service Parts Operations) and scheduled to enter production on approximately December 15, 1986.

To repair this condition, replace the original hose clamp with the following:

The clamp must be positioned as illustrated (see Figure 1) to afford the best protection for the hose and belt.
For Warranty Purposes use one of the following Labor Operations:

To replace the lower hose assembly T6191 .4 hours
To replace the clamp only T6190 .2 hours
To replace the A/C belt and clamp T6192 .6 hours
