Fig. 1 Caster and camber adjustment. Brougham & DeVille:

BROUGHAM & DEVILLE
Caster & Camber
Caster and camber are adjusted by adding or removing shims from between the upper control arm and frame bracket, Fig. 1. Caster is adjusted by transfering shims from front to rear and rear to front. Transfering shims from front bolt to rear bolt will increase positive caster, from rear bolt to front bolt will increase negative caster.
Camber is adjusted by adding or removing an equal number of shims from the front and rear bolts. To increase positive camber remove an equal amount of shims from front and rear bolts, to increase negative camber add an equal amount of shims to front and rear bolts.
After adjusting caster and camber torque nut to 70---80 ft. lbs. Tighten bolt with the least amount of shims first. After adjusting caster and camber toe-in must be adjusted.
The difference in thickness between front and rear shim packs should not exceed .40 inch. If difference is greater than .40 inch check arms, frame and related parts for damage.

Toe-In, Adjust
Toe-in is adjusted by loosening the clamp bolts at each end of each tie rod and turning each tie rod to increase or decrease its length as necessary until proper toe-in is achieved and the steering gear is on the high point for straight-ahead driving.
