Theft Deterrent Relay Test
THEFT DETERRENT RELAY TEST
Theft Deterrent Relay Test - Part 1 Of 2:
1. Remove the Theft deterrent relay and measure the voltage to ground at the connector terminals in the chart.
^ If all voltages are correct, proceed to step 2.
^ If voltage is incorrect at terminal A, check in line fuse A and check the BLK/YEL(2) wire for an open.
^ If voltage is incorrect at terminal B and horns operate normally, check for a faulty connector pin B. Repair horns if they are not operational.
^ If voltage is incorrect at terminal C and park lights operate normally, check for an open in the BRN(9) wire.
^ If voltage is incorrect at terminal D, check in line fuse B and check the DK GRN/WHT(2) wire for an open. If fuse is blown, check DK GRN/WHT(2) wire for a short to ground. If fuse blows when relay is reconnected, replace theft deterrent relay.
^ If voltage is incorrect at terminal E and headlights operate normally, check the TAN(12) wire for an open.
Theft Deterrent Relay Test - Part 2 Of 2:
2. Reinsert theft deterrent relay and connect a fused jumper from terminal F of the theft deterrent controller to ground.
^ If relay does not operate, check for an open in the BLK/WHT(265) wire.
^ If wire is good, replace the theft deterrent relay.
^ If all alarms don't operate, replace the theft deterrent relay.
