Status Indicator

While in the diagnostic mode, the mode indicators on the CCP are used to indicate the status of certain operating modes. The different modes of operation are indicated by the status light either being illuminated or off. A summary of the fuel and emission control systems status indicators is as follows:

1. The OFF indicator is illuminated whenever the ECM is commanding the VCC to engage. This light only indicates whether the VCC is engaged or disabled by the ECM.
2. The AUTO indicator shows the open/closed loop status of the DEFI system. The light is illuminated when operating in the closed loop mode.
3. The ECON indicator displays the rich/lean status of the oxygen sensor. The light is illuminated when the oxygen sensor is transmitting a ``rich'' voltage (above approximately .6 volt), or an increasing voltage from rich to lean (from approximately .4 to .6 volt).
4. The ``°'' indicator illustrates the status of the transmission third and fourth gear switch input to the ECM. The ``°C'' indicator is illuminated as the transmission shifts from second to third gear. The ``°F'' indicator is illuminated when the transmission shifts from third to fourth gear. The ``°E'' indicator is illuminated when a fault in the system results in the fourth gear input to the ECM to be open without the third gear input also being open.
