Air Temperature Sensor ( Ambient / Intake ): Description and Operation

The MAT sensor, mounted in the intake manifold, in front of throttle body, measures temperature of air/fuel mixture in intake manifold and relays a signal to the ECM. The sensor is a thermistor, whose resistance decreases as temperature increases.
