SUBJECT: ERRATIC TURN SIGNAL OPERATION, POWER ACCESSORIES INOPERATIVE, COURTESY LIGHTS DIM, ENGINE MISS/STOPS RUNNING, CODES E052, E059, B127, B128, B441, OR B552 SET

MODELS AFFECTED: 1986-1987 ELDORADO AND SEVILLE

Some 1986-1987 Eldorados and Sevilles may experience one or more of the following conditions:

- Turn signal indicator illuminates when not commanded (i.e., turn signal indicators illuminate when the headlights are on).
- Power door locks inoperative.
- Courtesy lights dim.
- Engine misses or stops running possibly accompanied by Code E059.
- Power seats and/or windows inoperative.
- Codes E052 and B552 set.
- Code B441 sets while the cooling fans are running.


- Codes B127 and/or B128 set. If any of these conditions are experienced, ground connection G103 should be inspected (see Figure 1). Ground connection G103 consists of two stud connections located near the engine starter. These studs should be secure to the engine and ground terminals should be fastened to the studs with star washers and nuts torqued to 20 N-m (15 ft.lbs.).

For warranty purposes, use Labor Operation T6212 at .2 hours.
